It was with much anticipation I approached the final day of New York Comic Con 2009. Not only because this was the day that covered almost all of the television shows that I follow, but primarily because this was the day that Joss Whedon would be there to discuss his newest project, DOLLHOUSE. Oh, and it didn’t hurt that one of the coolest (and hottest) actors from BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and the aforementioned DOLLHOUSE, Tahmoh Penikett, would also be attending. I was really curious to hear what Mr. Whedon had to say about his newest production, since there had been so many conflicting stories about how the show was developing. I was hoping for some in depth discussion of the arc of the series and the issues that would be tackled in the storylines. I wanted to know what Joss Whedon, someone who is known for his strong, proactive female characters, was going to do with a story about women (and men) who have their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas – personas that are hired by the wealthy, powerful and connected to become whomever the client wants or needs them to be.
Well, Mr. Whedon did not disappoint. At the round table interviews, he dove right in and discussed all of the above and more with the usual Joss anecdotes and humor – and funny voices to boot.
