SDCC 2015: The Flash Press Room

The Flash contingency was out in full force at San Diego Comic-Con this year!  “The Flash” himself, Grant Gustin, made the rounds in the Warner Bros. Television press room along with fellow castmates, Candice Patton, Tom Cavanagh, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, John Wesley Shipp and executive producer, Andrew Kreisberg.  Elsewhere at Comic-Con, The Flash costume was on display along with Batman and Superman’s famous threads.  After a phenomenal freshman season and a virtual tsuanmi of a season finale cliffhanger, the fall premiere of the next chapter for Barry Allen and his friends and foes can’t come soon enough.  We sat down with cast and producer to find out what fans have to look forward to.

Executive producer, Andrew Kreisberg, talks about the upcoming sophomore season of the hit CW series and how the first season came together.  He also talks Mirror Master, Grodd and hints at other new faces, good and evil, that may be seen in the future.

We got to talk to series star, Grant Gustin.  He discusses the fallout from the “Singularity” at the end of the first season, the possibility of more fun and karaoke next season, and even talked about the wishful crossover potential with Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow and even Supergirl.

Candice Patton talks about how all the events of first season have affected her character, Iris.  She also talks about the heart of Iris and where she is going this season.

In the second part of our round table interview with The Flash‘s Candice Patton, she talks about fun new faces in the first episode of the new season and her favorite emotional moments from the first season.

When we caught up with The Flash‘s Tom Cavanagh, he talked to us about technology, Dr. Harrison Wells (probable) favorite snacks, podcasts (Mike and Tom Eat Snacks), and how to dodge questions about season two (which he mentioned is a bit darker and accelerated — no pun intended).

Danielle Panabaker, who plays Caitlin Snow on The CW’s hit series, talks about what the future holds for her character in season two; the transition to Killer Frost; and the impact of playing a strong, intelligent woman — oh, and the hope for more fun scenes like in the drunk karaoke episode.

We sat down with The Flash‘s Carlos Valdes (sans his headband he was wearing earlier in the day) to talk about his character, Cisco, in the sophomore season of the series.  He discusses Cisco’s fun t-shirt style, his future as “Vibe,” and the possibility of seeing more of Cisco’s family.

John Wesley Shipp, who plays Henry Allen, talks about the relationship dynamic between Barry and his father and how it unfolds throughout the first season and the hopes for season two.

The Flash airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on The CW.  Season 2 premieres October 6th.

I don't binge-watch, I power-watch. I'm a major television junkie, but I love movies, too. I embraced my geek style at the turn of the millennium and have run with it since then. I have been working in the entertainment industry since forever, but it hasn't dulled my sense of wonder whenever I watch a great movie or an absorbing television show. I love genre -- sci fi, horror, fantasy -- in particular, I love vampires, the supernatural, space westerns, some slasher pics and stories / movies / shows related to witches and wizards. I also love comedies -- they make life easier. I've been traveling with Whedonopolis (https://www.whedonopolis.com/) since 2007 and writing for the site since 2008. I'm always up for an interesting conversation about the latest casting and plot twists on my favorite shows and movies.
