We sat down with the cast and showrunners for Freeform’s mermaid series, Siren, to discuss what to expect in the upcoming sophomore season.  Executive producers Eric Wald and Emily Whitesell (on left and right, respectively) were on hand with cast members (from left to right), Rena Owen, Alex Roe, Eline Powell, Fola Evans-Akingbola and Ian Verdun.

Series stars, Eline Powell, Alex Roe, Fola Evans-Akingbola talk about the intricacies of their characters’ unusual interspecies threesome (hint: it’s complicated) and what fans can look forward to seeing develop between mermaid Ryn and her human friends, Ben and Maddie.

Next, executive producers, Eric Wald and Emily Whitesell, talk about mermaid lore, mermaid war and mermaid amour… all in store for Season 2.

Season two of Siren will debut on Freeform in 2019.  Watch season one of Siren now on and Freeform.

I don't binge-watch, I power-watch. I'm a major television junkie, but I love movies, too. I embraced my geek style at the turn of the millennium and have run with it since then. I have been working in the entertainment industry since forever, but it hasn't dulled my sense of wonder whenever I watch a great movie or an absorbing television show. I love genre -- sci fi, horror, fantasy -- in particular, I love vampires, the supernatural, space westerns, some slasher pics and stories / movies / shows related to witches and wizards. I also love comedies -- they make life easier. I've been traveling with Whedonopolis ( since 2007 and writing for the site since 2008. I'm always up for an interesting conversation about the latest casting and plot twists on my favorite shows and movies.
