Dragon Con: A Con For The Fans

A week ago, I was attending day one of Dragon Con. Take me back!!! Since it ended, I’ve spent the week battling the infamous Con Crud and wishing I was at Dragon Con still, instead of back in the real world. This was my first year attending Dragon Con, and it is unlike any other […]

Dragon*Con 2007- Day 1: Firefly/Serenity Panel

Ron Glass (Shepherd Book) and Mark A. Sheppard (Badger) were supposed to do Q&A panels all weekend long at the recent Dragon*Con. I’m not quite sure what god D*C goers traveling by plane had offended, but pretty much everybody had the plane trip from hell, ranging from delays in getting on the plane, to delays once in the plane that involved waiting up to 2 1/2 hours sitting on the tarmac before taking off, to all manner of luggage hell, from the Atlanta airport dropping the name of your flight from the screen when your luggage hadn’t shown up in the carrousel yet (“It just times out” was the explanation) to the luggage getting lost, which is always a fun time. Ron was one of the victims of this plane trip hell, and was still trapped in a plane by the time the panel was scheduled to start and never made it, but Mark Sheppard, more than graciously, stepped up to the plate and fielded our questions for an hour. Unfortunately, this is the only panel we were able to attend, because D*C decided to greatly reduce the size of the room where the Browncoat panels were going to take place (knowing that Browncoats are a force of nature at that particular convention) and therefore the long lines were cut off when the room reached its seating capacity. Here’s hoping they’ll reconsider things in future. Now, without further ado, here’s what Mark talked about.

Dragon*Con 2007- Day 3: Whedonverse Panel

The last day of panels for us were on Sunday, as we were coming back to California the next day. Once again, the line for Sunday’s panel was nuts, but we lined up early and got really good seats, towards the middle. This time around, it was just James Marsters, Elisabeth Rohm and Ken Feinberg who shared of themselves with us for an hour, and this is what they talked about.

Dragon*Con 2007- Day 2: Whedonverse Panel

Day 2 of DragonCon started with a disappointment, as we were unable to get in to the Firefly/Serenity panel that was going to feature Ron Glass (Book) and Mark Sheppard (Badger). The room was filled to capacity, and I wasn’t even allowed to go in, take two pictures and leave. The same thing happened on Sunday, so unfortunately we only have coverage for Friday’s panel, that Mark carried on his own as Ron was trapped in plane halfway across the country and didn’t make it to Atlanta until later on that day.

Dragon*Con 2007- Day 1: Whedonverse Panel

Dragon*Con started a bit off for us, and fortunately I was able to make it to the Whedonverse panel in time, as it was to feature Juliet Landau (Drusilla), James Marsters (Spike), Elisabeth Rohm (Det. Kate Locksley) and Ken Feinberg (the Chaos Demon that came between Spike and Dru, causing his return to Sunnydale in the S3 episode “Lover’s Walk”)
