Peggy Carter is a superhero, a woman who defies the definition of the typical woman of the 1940’s and is an excellent law enforcer. She’s a great example to us all, and one great gal to hang around with.
No matter what happened during this week’s double-header, most people will likely be talking about Peggy Carter’s Broadway dream, and how Jarvis looks great in top hat and tails.
Peggy shows that she’ll stop at nothing to stop Whitney Frost’s plans for zero matter. She’ll even ask her nemesis for help. However, two people get caught in the crossfire.
Peggy tries to stop Whitney Frost from stealing a couple of atomic bombs, and recruits a couple of unlikely field agents. The mission, though, almost becomes very deadly.
The battle between Peggy and Whitney continues, as Peggy tries to get more information about the Arena Club. However, this week’s episode also shows how Peggy became an agent and Whitney a movie star who can also design powerful reactors.
Peggy is determined to help Dr. Wilkes, who somehow survived the zero matter explosion from last week. She gets help from Howard Stark, who proves to be a better scientist than movie producer. However, Jack Thompson is not so helpful, since he’s making some mistakes thanks to listening to the wrong guy.
Finally, Agent Carter began its second season this week. She’s hoping to solve a mysterious murder, but it will involve dealing with a mysterious and dangerous substance, a movie star and her husband with lots of secrets, and a council that could ruin Peggy’s career. Also, Dottie is back, and the SSR’s future may be in doubt.
At this year’s San Diego Comi-Con, Marvel combined Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with Agent Carter for one fantastic experience. We got to talk to the cast of both shows to get a hint at the upcoming seasons.
The first season of Agent Carter ends with Leviathan planning to use one of Howard Stark’s weapons to kill thousands…and trick him into using it. Peggy will get some respect, and decides to move on with her life. There’s also an interesting cameo by someone whose presence is still felt today.
Peggy is accused of treason by her fellow SSR agents, while she tries to convince them the real enemy is Dr. Ivchenko. The truth is finally revealed, but at a high price.
